You know, if I was going to be a devil worshiper, I think I would probably be the kind of devil worshiper that Groovie Mann and Buzz McCoy are. Rather than being all dour and sad, these folks, known collectively as My Life With The Thrill Kill Kult.

My Life With the Thrill Kill Kult makes music that is much more creative and engaging than those who later aped this pose (I'm looking at you, Brian Warner and Robert Zombie). With funky beats and basslines, these guys make the left-hand path sound sticky-sweet poppy.

Now, Rykodisc is giving TKK’s first three albums the deluxe reissue treatment, and damnation never sounded so fun.

The first record—I See Good Spirits and I See Bad Spirits—began as a soundtrack for a film that was never released. The music is cinematic enough to stand on its own, though. This reissue is filled out with three bonus tracks—two live cuts, and a song called "Back From Beyond."

Clearly, the second Thrill Kill Kult album, Confessions of a Knife, is the group's magnum opus. It opens with the one-two punch of "A Daisy Chain 4 Satan" and "The Days of Swine and Roses," which are both decadent fun and epic sing-alongs. "Waiting for Mommie" is a disco-dance-in-Hades sort of romp.

The final disc in the series is an eponymous collection of EPs, singles and compilation tracks that is an expanded version of a record called Kooler Than Jesus. Wonder what Mel Gibson would say about that.

The collections do get a bit monotonous if you try to listen to them all in one sitting (or in one day, even). But hell, you’ll have all eternity to listen to them. There’s no rush.
