Kiss is not on the list! Here’s CREEM’s "Dream Boxset" for the year that was, 1972. What was it? A great year for rock music, the beginning of gender bending, Presidential elections, Deep Throat (the movie, not the scandal), it was also the year the Stooges recorded Raw Power (although it didn’t come out until the following Spring).
If we were to embellish this list with witty comments about the records, how they were made or why you should have them in your collection before you die, then we wouldn’t have any filler to use when we start to publish CREEM (in the ever popular magazine format), nor would we have anything to replace the Phish article or in-depth interview with Xtina when they cancel on us. This way we could pull a classsic archive foto of Iggy or Bowie, slap it on the cover and still make deadline. |
